Becoming a Member of City Church

For those that are interested in becoming a member of City Church, we ask that you participate in our "Welcome to City Church" class. The next of these classes will take place on four consecutive Sunday evenings this spring (April 15, 22, 29, May 6). It will be from 3:30-5:00pm and will meet at the Riverside Assembly Hall (1301 Riverside Dr). Please sign up here. Childcare will be available.

Our goal in these classes is to provide you an overview of who City Church of East Nashville is and what it means for you to be a member of this church. The class is open to all—those pursuing membership, those who are unsure about membership, and those who are already members but would like a refreshment on these topics. For those pursuing membership, it is required that you attend at least three of the four classes. If you are not able to attend at least three of the classes, we plan to offer them again in the fall.

This class is comprised of three phases:

  1. Advance reading and reflection utilizing resources provided online (on your own)
  2. Teaching and conversation about where City Church comes from, who we are, and what it means to be a member of this congregation (together, large group)
  3. Interview with the Session to review all the topics and affirm the five membership vows (individual/family for those who desire to join)
